ARCEP opens access to its web site for visually-impaired users

Paris, 15th December 2008

Because innovations must benefit everyone, consideration of handicapped persons is a subject to which ARCEP attaches a great deal of importance. For the past several years, ARCEP has been ensuring operators respect their commitments to grant better accessibility to mobile telephony.

Today, ARCEP itself is taking a step towards better accessibility. It is pleased to launch special access for the visually impaired to its web site www.arcep.fr.

From now on, using a robot which automatically transcribes written text into audio, ARCEP’s news, i.e. press releases as well as certain speeches and interviews of ARCEP’s board members will be available in MP3 format and can be listened to by the visually impaired.

This special access is available starting today, Monday 15th December 2008 from our site’s home page: to use it, click on the red icon in the right column marked "L’ARCEP en audio":
