The main auction for the award of 3.4 – 3.8 GHz band frequencies continued today.
Eight rounds of bidding took place over the course of the day on 30 September 2020, ending at round number twelve. At the end of this round, the unit price for a block of 10 MHz stood at 111 million euros. During the last round of the day the candidates requested the following numbers of blocks:
Round | Price (€) | Number of 10 MHz blocks requested by the bidding company | Total
Bouygues Telecom | Free Mobile | Orange | SFR
12 | 111,000,000 | 3 | 2 | 5 | 3 | 13 |
Because the total combined number of blocks requested by the bidders (13 blocks de 10 MHz) was greater than the number of available blocks (11 blocks de 10 MHz), the auction was not completed.
The bidding will resume tomorrow with round number 13, with the price set at 114 million euros per block of 10 MHz. The value of the increment between each round of bidding, for a block of 10 MHz, remains unchanged at 3 million euros.
The following table summarises the outcome of the preceding day’s bidding:
Bidding date | Number of the latest round | Price reached during the latest round (€) | Number of 10 MHz blocks requested by the bidding company | Total
