The President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, has appointed Mireille Clapot to the Arcep Executive Board, as of 15 October 2024.
A graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris, Mireille Clapot worked for 25 years in the industrial sector, first as a head of marketing, and later of procurement. She went on to become Director of the Office of the Mayor of Valence, Director of Development and Corporate Relations at the École Centrale de Lyon, and was elected Deputy of the Drome for 2017 to 2024, during which she chaired the High Commission for Digital and Postal Affairs (CNSP). This Joint Parliamentary Committee, composed of seven deputies, seven senators and three experts, issues opinions at the request of the Government on topics relating to postal services and digital technology. Mireille Clapot was the rapporteur for the CSNP opinion on “How to better supervise the use of artificial intelligence”. She has also written novels and is a passionate human rights advocate.
Mireille Clapot comes to replace Maya Bacache, and Executive Board member since October 2019, who has been appointed Chief counsellor to the Court of Auditors (Cour des comptes). Arcep extends its most sincere thanks for her valuable contribution to the Authority’s work thanks, among other things, to her expertise in economic and social sciences.
The Arcep Executive Board has seven members: Laure de La Raudière (Chair), Mireille Clapot, Emmanuel Gabla, Sarah Jacquier Pelissier, François Lions, Xavier Merlin and Marie-Christine Servant. Three of them, including the Chair, are appointed by the President of the Republic. The other four are appointed, respectively, by the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate.
