Appointment

Zacharia Alahyane appointed to the Arcep Executive Board


The President of the Republic has appointed Zacharia Alahyane as a member of the Arcep Executive Board with effect from 13 February 2025.

A graduate of the École nationale supérieure d’ingénieurs de constructions aéronautiques, Zacharia Alahyane also holds an MBA from the Institut d’administration des entreprises of Paris.

After beginning his career at the Directorate General of Armaments, from 1996 to 2010, and the Directorate General for Enterprise, from 2010 to 2012, he was appointed as an advisor on reorganisation to the cabinet of the Minister of the Economy, Arnaud Montebourg, and later to Emmanuel Macron. In 2016, he was appointed Director of Arcep’s Internet and Users department.

In 2018, he joined the French Digital Agency (Agence du numérique) as the Director of the "France Mobile" task force, and later became Director of the France Mobile and France Très haut débit (Superfast access) programmes at France’s National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ANCT).

Zacharia Alahyane will succeed François Lions, a member of the Arcep Board since 1 February 2019. Arcep extends its most sincere thanks to François François Lions for his invaluable contribution to Arcep’s work, for his expertise and his commitment.

The Arcep Executive Board is composed of seven members: Laure de La Raudière (Chair), Sarah Jacquier Pelissier, Xavier Merlin, Marie-Christine Servant, Mireille Clapot, Akim Oural and Zacharia Alahyane. Three of the members, including the Chair, are appointed by the President of the Republic. The other four are appointed, respectively, by the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate.
