Paris, 23 December 2009
Completing work that has been ongoing since the start of 2009, which included field trials and consultations, and after having received a favourable opinion from the Competition Authority and the European Commission, ARCEP today adopted the decision and the recommendation concerning the terms for deploying and accessing ultra high-speed optical fibre electronic communications lines in very densely populated areas, and has submitted the decision to the Minister responsible for electronic communications, for approval.
After the decision has been approved and published in the Official Journal of the French Republic, operators will have one month to publish their access offers for existing and future fibre-to-the-home rollouts.
