Communiqué de presse

ARCEP continues to monitor the switch from old directory services numbers to the new 118XYZ numbers. In January-February 2006, 118 numbers received 15.6% of calls to all directory services compared with 9% in November-December 2005

Paris, 16th March 2006

Since the number 12 and other former directory services numbers will stop providing services on 3 April, ARCEP continues to monitor the switch to the new 118 numbers.

Over the two months of January and February 2006, approximately 35 million calls were made to all directory services.

The 118 numbers received 15.57% of these calls, compared with 9% during the months of November and December 2005.

These figures confirm the gradual increase in use of the new numbers as we approach the 3 April deadline.
