Following the recent publication of an article by a France Telecom union representative in the "débats" section of a weekly publication's (1) website, which implicates ARCEP by stating that the Authority forbids the incumbent carrier from practicing data matching on its sales records, in the name of competition law, ARCEP would like to issue a reminder that it does not have the power to ban data matching.
This is a matter that falls solely under the purview of the Competition Authority.
