Today ARCEP is publishing a status report on carriers’ wireless local loop rollouts in the 3.5 GHz frequency band as of 31 December 2010, produced as the result of a monitoring process that began back in September 2008.
ARCEP is taking this opportunity to launch a public consultation on the outlook for the use and development of wireless local loop networks.
This consultation seeks to examine the role that these networks play in the market for fixed and roaming broadband access to the Internet, the status of the industry and of technological developments in the 3.5 GHz and, finally, these networks’ spectrum requirements.
Responses to the consultation must be submitted to ARCEP by 23 June at the latest.
