ARCEP publishes an annual assessment of the net cost of increasing the density of the La Poste network in the pursuit of its regional development duties.

Article 6 of Law No. 90-568 of 2 July 1990, amended by Law No. 2010-123 of 9 February 2010, stipulates that the Electronic communications and postal regulatory authority, ARCEP, will perform an annual assessment of the net cost of increasing the density of the La Poste network to allow the post office to carry out its regional development duties.

Order No. 2011-849 of 18 July 2011 specifies the cost evaluation method to be used.

Accordingly, ARCEP adopted Decision No. 2011-1081 on 22 September which assesses the net cost of increasing the density of the postal network.

The corresponding amount for 2010 comes to €269 million.
