In its decision dated 24 December 1999, ART gave France Telecom formal notice to submit for price approval its ADSL Internet access offers outside the geographic areas initially requested, in accordance with its specifications, and before 10 January 2000. The initial request had been discussed by ART in an opinion dated 7 July 1999 and a ministry approval decision dated 12 July 1999.
With this notice, ART intends to ensure, in accordance with its missions, that France Telecom's ADSL offers are deployed in respect of telecommunications regulations and under conditions which are compatible with the development of effective competition on the high-speed Internet access market.
