The UHF band (450-470 MHz), identified at the European level for digital professional mobile radio networks, is being reorganised in France as part of an agreement which is currently being finalised between the frequency allocating authorities: the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior and Autorité de régulation des télécommunications (ART).
In this context, ART allocates frequencies to operators and users in accordance with the provisions of article L. 36-7 (6°) of the Post and Telecommunications Code, and in particular to those wishing to create private networks. So, ART is launching a call for comments regarding the frequency needs in this band for digital professional mobile radio networks in the Paris area.
Through the call for comments, interested parties can inform ART of their plans and comments, as well as express new needs and time requirements, in the short and medium term, in the UHF band. ART would like to get also information on the present and future availability of equipment operating in this band.
The deadline for contributions is 30 April 2001.
