The final results of the spectrum auction are as follows:
More specifically:
- operator SFR has first position in the band and has been allocated two blocks of 5 MHz, for a bid in the amount of €466,000,000;
- operator Orange has second position in the band and has been allocated two blocks of 10 MHz, for a bid in the amount of €933,078,323;
- operator Bouygues Telecom has third position in the band and has been allocated two blocks of 5 MHz, for a bid in the amount of €467,164,000;
- operator Free Mobile has fourth position in the band and has been allocated two blocks of 10 MHz, for a bid in the amount of €932,734,001.
In total, the proceeds that the winning candidates will pay to the State for the use of 700 MHz band frequencies amount to €2,798,976,324.
The winning candidates will settle these amounts in four equal instalments:
- upon being issued the licence;
- one year later (i.e. in late 2016);
- two years later (i.e. in late 2017);
- and three years later (i.e. in late 2018).
To these amounts are added a variable annual fee equal to one percent of the revenue earned from the use of these frequencies.
Within the next few weeks, ARCEP will issue each of the winning candidates their licence to use their 700 MHz band frequencies.
