Following the publication of the Order of 19 September 2023 launching the procedure for the assignment of the 900 MHz band in Réunion, Arcep invited interested stakeholders to submit a tender dossier before 12 pm (Paris time) on 5 December 2023.
Four companies submitted a tender dossier for the assignment of frequencies in the 900 MHz band in Réunion before the deadline:
- Orange;
- Société réunionnaise de radiotéléphonie (SRR);
- Telco OI;
- Zeop Mobile.
Companies that did not submit a tender dossier will be unable to participate in the procedure for the assignment of frequencies in the 900 MHz band in Réunion.
Arcep will now examine the tender dossiers. It will ensure that they meet the procedure’s eligibility and qualification requirements. Once this examination is complete, Arcep will publish the list of the applicants who are eligible to participate in the principal auction for 900 MHz band frequencies.
The 900 MHz band frequencies will be awarded through an auction-based procedure that will take place in the coming weeks, so that licences can be issued in the second quarter of 2024 at the latest.
