The “positioning” auctions for the assignment of frequencies in the 900 MHz band in Martinique and in Guadeloupe were held on 14 November 2024.
As a reminder: having completed the examination of the applications, the principal auction for the assignment of 700 MHz and 900 MHz band frequency packages in Martinique and in Guadeloupe, which was held on 1 October, made it possible to determine the quantity of 900 MHz band spectrum obtained by each of the winning candidates in the 885 – 915 MHz and 930 – 960 MHz sub-bands in Martinique and in the 890 – 915 MHz and 935 – 960 MHz sub-bands in Guadeloupe, provided this frequency assignment procedure is brought to completion.
Regarding the 700 MHz band, the principal auction made it possible to determine the quantity of spectrum obtained by each of the winning candidates in the 703 – 723 MHz and 758 – 778 MHz sub-bands in Martinique and in Guadeloupe. A positioning auction was held for these frequencies on 22 October 2024.
The purpose of the “positioning” auctions in the procedure for the assignment of 900 MHz band spectrum is to determine each of the winning candidate’s position on the 900 MHz band spectrum contained in the frequency packages.
The remainder of the 900 MHz band frequencies, which correspond to the 880 – 885 MHz and 925 – 930 MHz sub-bands in Martinique and the 880 – 890 MHz and 925 – 935 MHz sub-bands in Guadeloupe, as well as the remaining 700 MHz band frequencies, corresponding to the 723 – 733 MHz and 778 – 788 MHz sub-bands in Martinique and in Guadeloupe, will be awarded through an auction for the blocks of 5 MHz duplex frequencies that will be held in the coming weeks.
