The principal auctions for the award of 700 MHz band frequencies in Réunion and in Mayotte took place yesterday. For the procedures in Réunion and Mayotte, at the conclusion of the stage during which 5 MHz blocks of paired spectrum in the 700 MHz band were awarded in exchange for commitments, there remained two 5 MHz blocks of paired spectrum to be assigned in each territory.
Results of the quantities of frequencies awarded in Réunion
The quantities of frequencies awarded through the assignment procedure for 700 MHz band spectrum in Réunion are as follows:
Candidate | Orange | SRR | Telco OI | Zeop Mobile |
During the stage for awarding 5 MHz (paired) in exchange for commitments | 5 MHz (paired) | 5 MHz (paired) | 5 MHz (paired) | 5 MHz (paired) |
Quantities of frequencies awarded during the principal auction | 5 MHz (paired) | 0 MHz (paired) | 5 MHz (paired) | 0 MHz (paired) |

Final stage in the awards procedure in Q1 2022: “positioning” auction
Reminder of the results of the quantities of 3.4 – 3.8 GHz band frequencies awarded during the assignment stage in Réunion:
Orange | SRR | Telco OI | Zeop Mobile |
100 MHz | 100 MHz | 100 MHz | 80 MHz |
Now that the quantity of frequencies that each candidate can obtain in the 700 MHz band in Réunion and Mayotte and in the 3.4 – 3.8 GHz band in Réunion is known, a single-round, second highest bid “positioning” auction will be held in the first quarter of 2022.
These auctions will serve to determine each of the winning candidates’ position on each of the bands. It will also provide them with the opportunity to express their positioning preferences on each of the two bands.
Arcep will award the licences to use 700 MHz and 3.4 – 3.8 GHz band frequencies in Réunion and in Mayotte at the end of Q1 2022.
