Jean Marimbert is named Director General of ART

Today, Jean-Michel Hubert, Chairman of Autorité de régulation des télécommunications (ART), handed over to Jean Marimbert the general management of ART.

Jean Marimbert was born in March 1956. He is a Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA) graduate, and was named Conseiller d'Etat in July 1998. After serving as General Secretary of the survey commission in 1985 and 1986, he served as government commissioner to the dispute section of the Conseil d'Etat. Between 1987 and 1990, he served as technical advisor to the office of the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment, then as advisor to the Secretary of State to the "Plan", then as assistant director at the office of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Professional Training. In 1990, he was named Director General of ANPE (the national employment centre), then Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agence française du sang, from 1993 to 1995. Since June 1995, Jean Marimbert has been Director of Labour Relations at the Ministry of Employment and Solidarity.

The Director General manages and coordinates the departments of ART under the authority of the Chairman.

Jean Marimbert replaces Pierre-Alain Jeanneney, who had acted as Director General of ART since its creation in January 1997, and who is returning to the Conseil d'Etat. Jean-Michel Hubert and the members of the Board sincerely thank Pierre-Alain Jeanneney for the determining role he played in setting up and assisting ART in its operation.
