On 7 January 2015, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Claude Bartolone, appointed Martine Lombard member of the ARCEP Executive Board.
Admitted to the ENA (graduate school for senior civil servants) in 1973, Martine Lombard chose instead to continue her legal studies in Strasbourg and at the European University Institute in Florence, obtaining her doctorate in public law, and later her "agrégation" to teach law (1979).
A professor at the universities of Lyon and later Strasbourg, she was hired by Air France in 1986 to be their Director of Legal Affairs, where she remained until 1993.
A professor at the Université de Paris Dauphine then Panthéon-Assas starting in 1997, a member of the Paris Bar Association, Martine Lombard is specialised in economic regulation, a topic on which she has published numerous articles and books. From 2009 until the end of 2010, she contributed her expertise in this area as a member of ARCEP's Forward planning committee.
In December 2010, the Speaker of France's National Assembly, Bernard Accoyer, nominated Martine Lombard to be a member of the Supreme Judicial Council, a position she occupied for four years, from January 2011 to January 2015. This appointment was approved in a vote by the Law Commission of the National Assembly.
Martine Lombard will replace Daniel-Georges Courtois whose term as Member of the ARCEP Executive Board is coming to an end.
