Autorité de regulation des telecommunications (ART) published today the Mobile Observatory for the first quarter 2002.
The data published includes two new elements:
for the first time, the fact that some clients using prepaid cards are not active, as announced by ART in its press release dated 11 April
the impact of Bouygues Telecom's modification of the validity period for its prepaid cards
The Mobile Observatory included these two factors as of 31 March 2002. It also saw a slowdown in the growth of new mobile subscribers. This phenomenon has been observed in most European countries over the past several months.
ART plans to carry on progressively adding to the Mobile Observatory in order to continue to reflect the dynamics of the development of new services.
