Loïc Duflot appointed Director of Arcep’s Internet and Users department

Loïc Duflot has been appointed Director of Arcep’s Internet and Users department.

A chief engineer and graduate of France’s École des Mines, Loïc Duflot has a PhD in computer science, with degrees from the École polytechnique and Telecom ParisTech. He began his career in 2003, as a policy officer at the Central Directorate of Computer Security/Direction Centrale de la Sécurité des Systèmes d’Information (DCSSI). He then moved onto the National Cybersecurity Agency of France/Agence nationale de la sécurité des systèmes d’information (ANSSI), where his positions included Assistant Director of Expertise. In 2014, he became the Assistant Director of Digital Networks and Usage for the Directorate-General for Enterprise (DGE).

A former cybersecurity technical expert, Loïc Duflot is the author of international publications on computing and trust. As part of his duties for the Directorate-General for Enterprise, he was also involved in defining, implementing and supporting a number of public policies on innovation and investment: the Digital Republic Act, the FranceNum programme devoted to supporting French businesses’ digital transformation, the French Tech initiative, the development of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, 5G mobile communication networks, etc.

Loïc Duflot assumed the position of Director of the Internet and Users department on 1 August 2018.
