Public consultation on reuse of the 900 MHz frequency band for third-generation mobile networks, and on future spectrum needs in the French overseas départements and territories.

ARCEP is launching a public consultation today on frequency bands used by mobile networks in the overseas départements and territories.

The purpose of this consultation is to prepare the terms that will govern the introduction of UMTS in the 900 MHz band, and to assess the different French overseas départements and territories' future spectrum requirements.

The text submitted to consultation is available, in French, on the ARCEP website. Interested parties are invited to respond by 30 September 2010.
