The Chairman of ARCEP met with Alcatel-Lucent union representatives on Friday, 13 November

Jean-Ludovic Silicani, Chairman of France’s electronic communications and postal regulatory authority, ARCEP, met with Alcatel-Lucent union representatives this morning.

He explained the “regulated competition” model which benefits not only consumers but also investment and innovation, and which supplies the framework for all of the Authority’s decisions.

The productive and in-depth discussion that followed provided an opportunity to specify the terms under which ARCEP took the employment criteria into account when making its decisions.

Finally, Mr. Silicani reminded union representatives that the various components of the digital economy are expected to be particularly dynamic in the coming years, thanks especially to the rollout of new optical fibre networks and the ongoing deployment of third generation, then fourth generation, cellular telephony networks – making use of the digital dividend.
