The deadline for abolishing old number formats for shared-cost and shared-revenue services has been postponed

ART recently adopted a measure (decision no. 01-1050) resulting in the postponement of the date for abolishing old numbering formats for shared-cost and shared-revenue numbers.

This decision was made to take account of the difficulties encountered by users of these services, which are mainly intended for businesses. Although a three-year deadline was initially provided for under decision no. 98-1046 dated 23 December 1998, many companies were either not informed or did not realise the urgency of replacing old blocks of numbers with new ones.

The deadline has been put back by one year but cannot be extended further. The new deadline is 4 February 2003. Companies that have not yet taken appropriate action should contact France Télécom without delay to request new numbers to replace the old ones.
