The French Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ART) conducts the third and final round of the procedure enabling operators to reserve a prefix for carrier selection

The French Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ART) has conducted the third and final round of the lottery procedure during which Tele2 France and Esprit Télécom France were allocated a so-called " E " digit for carrier selection.

Telecommunications operators may request a four-digit " 16XY " format prefix from ART. This is another means of carrier selection enabling operators to provide long distance and international communications. There are over a hundred values available, four of which have already been reserved by ART for the following operators:
