What do new entrants have to pay for interconnection in France ?

In response to the numerous requests for information on France Télécom's standard interconnection offer, the French Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ART) has established the following details on interconnection prices for new entrants in 1998.

Operators entering the market will use France Télécom's interconnection services for traffic routing. The prices payable for such services have been set out in the standard interconnection offer, approved by the Authority on 9 April.

These average prices, in centimes per minute, comprise:

1) usage charges (centimes per minute), for both peak (65%) and off-peak

(35%) traffic ;

2) access charges for the 2 Mbit/s capacity used by the new entrant (similar to an annual subscription), on the basis of 1.8 million minutes per annum and per connection.
